Come learn from an online panel of SF State students how they use and experiment with Generative AI, their perspectives on this new and emerging technology, and their thoughts about how it can play a role in their learning. 
This one hour webinar will be held on Wednesday, March 13th, 2024 from noon to 1pm and is sponsored by the Academic Technology Advisory Committee (ATAC).
Generative AI is a hot topic in higher education both for its potential to impact teaching and learning but also for its disruption of disciplines, fields, and the future workforce our students will be entering.

The Lam-Larsen Initiative for Emerging Technologies is excited to announce its second Meet-the-Expert talk on the exciting topic of Generative AI and Large Language Models, hosting Mr. Prashant Jain, the Vice President of Business Transformation at Capgemini.

Prashant Jain is an innovative technology leader with over two decades of experience spearheading Digital transportation and enterprise information systems. He is currently the Vice President of Business Transformation and the North American SAP Center of Excellence at Capgemini, pioneering some of the earliest successful S/4HANA projects and global business transformation. Prashant holds an Engineering degree from IIT Delhi and MBA from UCLA Anderson.

This event is open to the entire SFSU community and will be held online via Zoom.

CEETL invites you to attend a mini-symposium on AI and teaching held on zoom on Friday May 3rd from 9:00 - 12:00.

The event will feature short presentations by SF State faculty who will share about how they use AI in the classroom. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. After the presentations, esteemed scholar José Antonio Bowen (https://josebowen.com/), author of Teaching Naked and his forthcoming book Teaching with AI, will offer a keynote speech about the future of teaching and learning in higher education in an age of Generative AI.

About the speaker:

Dr. Jules White is Director of Vanderbilt's Initiative on the Future of Learning & Generative AI, Associate Dean of Strategic Learning Programs in the School of Engineering, and Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science at Vanderbilt University. He created one of the first online classes for Prompt Engineering (https://coursera.org/learn/prompt-engineering), which is the study of how to converse with AI effectively, with over ~160,00 enrolled. He is a National Science Foundation CAREER Award recipient. His research has won multiple Best Paper Awards. He has also published over 160 papers. Dr. White's research focuses on large language models, such as ChatGPT, cyber-security, and software engineering in domains ranging from healthcare to manufacturing. His research is conducted through the Mobile Application computinG, optimizatioN, and secUrity Methods (MAGNUM) Group at Vanderbilt, which he directs (http://www.magnum.io/people/jules.html).
